Anita Ramachandran

Founder & Director

Anita heads Cerebrus Consultants and has over 40 years of consulting experience in corporate strategy and Human Resource consulting. She has spearheaded several large strategic HR and transformation exercises across various organizations and sectors in South Asia.
Anita worked with A.F. Ferguson Management consultancy division for 18 years and was a Director in the firm. In 1995 she set up Cerebrus Consultants, which was then a pioneer in the area of HR advisory services.
Anita is a well known expert in the Rewards area in the country and has advised a large number of companies on Executive compensation. Long term incentive plans and ESOP. She has also been recognized for her work in strategic HR and has worked with several large family groups in the country through transformation journeys. Anita has also been a mentor to many start up companies.
Anita has been an Independent director on large company Boards for over 20 years. She is currently on the Board of 5 listed companies and 10 public companies. Some of the companies in which she is an Independent director includes Grasim, FSN E commerce (Nykaa), Happiest Minds, Metropolis Healthcare, Kotak Life Insurance.
Anita works extensively with the development sector and has been formerly on the Board of Oxfam India.

She has won several academic honors and was a Dorab Tata scholar.

  • Sabitha Rao - Director
    Sabitha Rao


    Sabitha has been a part of the core team at Cerebrus since 1997. Sabitha has 15 years of experience both as a Management Consultant and in line HR with A F Ferguson,  Citibank NA and American President Lines before joining Cerebrus.

    Sabitha is based in Chennai and heads our South practice including  Sri Lanka.  She has managed a wide range of assignments across our various service areas. She has also worked across several countries in her earlier roles and in Cerebrus.

    Sabitha is a well known expert on Sri Lanka and has had more than two decades of experience in this country. In recent times, she has worked in new markets like Africa and South East Asia.

    She has a successful track record in competency mapping and for facilitating capability building initiatives at the individual and organizational level. She is a certified trainer in Behavioral Interviewing, Performance Management, & Change Management.

    Sabitha has a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Madras University and a Master of Business Administration degree from IIM (Calcutta).

    Sabitha is an Independent Director on the Board of Esab India.    


  • Rajashri Hazare - Director
    Rajashri Hazare


    Rajashri has been part of the core team of  Cerebrus from 2001. She has 11 years  prior work experience in line HR in the pharmaceutical industry.

    Rajashri leads our HR management practice. She has worked with a large number of companies in the startup stage and through transition periods such as M&As as a strategic HR partner and has been involved in both design and implementation of various HR initiatives as well as management of HR operations. Her hands-on execution experience is greatly valued and enables organisations to have the benefit of seasoned professional HR counsel.

    Rajashri is also a trained Coach. She has participated and led several Assessment centres and worked on several Leadership development initiatives. She has also counseled over 400 managers at various levels.

    Rajashri has a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Pune University and a master’s degree in personnel management from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune.

  • Asim Kumar - Director
    Asim Kumar


    Asim is part of the core team of Cerebrus and has been with Cerebrus since 2006. He has over 19 years of prior work experience as a Management Consultant and in line roles in Sales and Business development. He has worked earlier in AF Ferguson, QAI, Tata Exports and Sterlite.

    Asim leads our practice in North India and also for the Development sector. He has worked across our service areas in a large variety of sectors.. His unique mix of having done significant work for the public sector, private sector and Not for profit sector has brought many insights to his advisory work as well as a HR partner to clients. 

    Asim is an expert in the Development sector and has worked with all the major international NGOs besides a large number of local NGOs.

    Asim also leads  our work in Nepal. He  has worked on several  international assignments in  markets like Africa, Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia
    Asim is a certified Coach.

    Asim has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Birla Engineering College, Anand, and a management degree from NMIMS, Mumbai.


  • Suman Shankar - Director
    Suman Shankar


    Suman has been with Cerebrus, based in Bangalore, for 20 years and is currently a Director with the firm. Prior to Cerebrus, she has worked with A.F.Ferguson and Ernst & Young. Her experience has mainly been in the areas of Rewards Management, Job Evaluation, Organization Restructuring and Performance Management. Suman has worked on a large number of consulting projects across industries. She has worked on several large integrated assignments covering Organization structuring, Manpower, Job Evaluation and Compensation for clients. Many of these assignments also include implementation and employee communication as part of the scope. Being based in Bangalore, Suman has also done substantial work with IT organizations – services, products and Start-ups across HR areas. Suman has done her MBA from IMT Ghaziabad.

    Mangal has been with Cerebrus for over 16 years and leads the Leadership Development practice. She leads teams on execution of several of the large engagements in the area of Leadership Capability assessment using Assessment Centers and 360 Degree Feedback Surveys, building Talent and Succession Pipeline and Leadership Transformation through development interventions.
    In Cerebrus Mangal has worked on a wide range of assignments in the areas of Organizational Development, Organizational and HR Diagnostic Studies, Organization Structure Review, Job Evaluation and Banding, defining role accountabilities and Design and implementation of Performance Management Systems.
    Mangal is a facilitator and trainer and has facilitated Training Interventions for various clients in the area of Capability Building, Performance conversations, Personal & Managerial Effectiveness, Communication Skills and Competency Building. She also supports organizations in leading conversations at individual and group level as a part of their change journeys.
    Mangal has a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce and Master of Management Studies from University of Mumbai. She has also done her Post Graduate degree in Human Resource Management from Monash University, Melbourne. Mangal is a certified Hogan Practitioner, certified DiSC Trainer and certified Positive Resilience Practitioner.

    Shreya has a stint of 13 years with Cerebrus. She has worked on wide range of assignments in the areas of Organization Design & Restructuring, Job Architecture & Evaluation, Talent, Performance & Rewards Management, HR Start-up and Integration support.
    She has successfully led Organization Transformation projects with clients during their startup, joint venture, M&A, transformation stages to help build the HR strategy and infrastructure. She has substantial experience of working with clients in Sri Lanka in the Banking, Apparel, Logistics and Telecom sectors.
    She has played a role of a trusted advisor for some of our clients with a long-term engagement spanning to 3 to 5 years.
    Shreya has a Bachelor’s degree in Management from Mumbai University and an MBA from SIES College of Management Studies.
